Features of classic dental implants
Classic two-piece implants consist of an artificial titanium root that is fixed into the cancellous (soft) part of the bone. The process of integrating implants into this part of the bone usually takes 3 to 6 months before crowns and bridges can be placed on them for final restoration.
This type of dental implant can be made from either titanium or zirconium and is used to replace missing teeth in the anterior (visible) region of the upper and lower jaw.
To fit the crown, additional components (elements) are required, which are screwed onto the implant that has already fused with the bone.
This includes components such as:
An abutment (superstructure), which acts as a base onto which the crown is secured, either by screwing or cementing.
A healing screw or gingiva former, which shapes the gum tissue around the implant to make it look like a real tooth root.
A transfer and an analogue, which are used to accurately transfer the position of the implant from the patient’s mouth to the dental laboratory.
All these elements work together to provide a stable and aesthetic foundation for the crown, which restores both the function and appearance of the natural tooth.
Placement of conventional dental implants
Conventional dental implants are placed to replace a single tooth or a group of missing teeth. An important consideration with these is the need for sufficient bone volume; however, many patients experience bone resorption, which necessitates bone augmentation.
This is a surgical procedure in which artificial or natural (from other parts of the patient’s body) bone is added to increase the bone volume required for implant placement. In the upper jaw area near the sinus, it is most often necessary to elevate the sinus membrane by adding bone – a sinus lift.
Proper planning of implant treatment is a key factor in achieving implant functionality that is close to that of healthy natural teeth.
To ensure the patient is not left without teeth during the osseointegration process, a temporary restoration is placed – provided the quality of the bone around the implant allows for this.
Metal-ceramic restorations are made from high-quality dental ceramics with customised crown characteristics and offer excellent aesthetic results. Zirconia crowns or bridges on implants can also be fabricated.

What is the price range?
Following an examination and the review of an orthopantomogram (panoramic X-ray), the patient is presented with a treatment plan and a quote. The final cost of the implants is determined on an individual basis, based on the treatment plan drawn up and the patient’s specific needs. Appointments for surgery are made following prior coordination with the clinic’s schedule.
