Preventive Dentistry

Dental prevention

Successful dental prevention is the foundation of good oral health and the key to a high quality of life. Prevention helps to avoid complications. At Dentatime Clinic, we take special care to prevent dental diseases through regular check-ups and preventive treatments.

Maintaining good dental health is linked not only to a person’s appearance but also to their overall physical condition. Modern medicine has now established a number of links between certain dental diseases and cardiovascular, renal, dermatological and other problems that arise as a consequence of them.

The clinic's name, 'denta time,' is displayed in green lettering on a white wall behind the desk and on a glass partition. Lime green chairs are arranged in the waiting area, which has white walls, light-colored tiled floors, and a medical X-ray stand visible on the left.

What is dental prophylaxis?

Dental prophylaxis is a set of measures aimed at preventing tooth decay, periodontal disease and other oral health problems. It comprises three main levels.

Primary prevention

Primary prevention focuses on resilient oral structures and includes measures to strengthen tooth enamel, proper oral hygiene and a healthy diet. The aim is to prevent the onset of diseases before they begin.

Secondary prevention

Secondary prevention focuses on the early detection and treatment of dental problems in their initial stages, when they can still be managed easily and without complications.

Tertiary prevention

Tertiary prevention involves measures to prevent complications in existing conditions and to restore the function of the teeth.

What preventive treatments do we offer?

At Dentatime, we offer a range of preventive treatments.

Regular check-ups at the dentist

Regular check-ups for our patients are an important part of the professional care we provide at Dentatime Clinic for the early prevention of all types of oral health-related conditions.

During these preventive check-ups, our specialists thoroughly assess the patient’s oral health indicators, monitor the maintenance of procedures carried out and dental treatments already performed, such as implants, prosthetics, the fitting of orthodontic appliances or others that require medical supervision over a certain period.

If necessary, professional cleaning and polishing are also carried out during the check-up, along with the identification of early symptoms of any dental disease.

Removal of tartar and plaque

Deposits on the teeth in the form of tartar and plaque are responsible for a large number of diseases affecting both the teeth and the gums. They create a favourable environment for cariogenic microorganisms and cause diseases such as periodontitis and gingivitis.

Symptoms of these conditions include bleeding gums, swelling and redness, as well as bad breath. The best way to prevent them is through regular preventive care.

Professional cleaning with the Air Flow system

Air Flow is one of the most popular procedures, performed after tartar removal, in which remaining plaque and hard particles are removed from the teeth using pressurised water and soda.

This procedure quickly restores the teeth’s natural colour without damaging the enamel. The teeth become smooth, clean and perfectly polished. The procedure is painless and helps remove even small stains caused by the consumption of coffee, tea and wine.

Dental sealing for children

Regular check-ups are a key factor that allows the dentists at Dentatime Clinic to plan timely interventions and short treatments without any pain for patients.

This is particularly important for our youngest patients, for whom preventive dental sealing is a frequently used procedure to preserve their teeth. This treatment protects against caries in the fissures and helps maintain the health of children’s permanent teeth.

Fluoride prophylaxis and remineralisation

At Dentatime Clinic, we offer our patients consultations regarding the need for additional remineralising agents and suitable auxiliary products for oral hygiene – interdental brushes, plaque-disclosing tablets (particularly suitable for children) and others.

Fluoride prophylaxis is an effective method for strengthening tooth enamel and creating oral structures that are more resistant to acid attacks.

Recommendations for oral hygiene

Our specialists provide detailed guidance on oral hygiene and advice on the correct techniques for brushing teeth, flossing and using interdental brushes. These practices, together with recommendations for a healthy diet, are key to helping our patients develop healthy habits.

Why is oral hygiene so important?

Dental health problems are directly linked to a lack of good oral hygiene and irregular visits for preventive care. Unhealthy dietary habits also play a significant role – frequent consumption of carbohydrate-rich foods, fizzy drinks and smoking.

Good oral health is an integral part of overall health. Infections in the mouth can spread into the bloodstream and lead to serious health problems. Successful prevention of infections through regular hygiene and professional cleaning is of critical importance.

What are the benefits of dental prophylaxis?

Dental prevention offers a range of benefits for dental health and general well-being.

The main benefits are:

Saving money and time – preventive measures are significantly cheaper than treating advanced dental problems. Regular preventive care helps you avoid costly and lengthy treatments.

Early detection of problems – during preventive check-ups, problems are identified at an early stage, when they can be resolved easily and painlessly, which significantly reduces the risk of complications

Preserving your natural teeth – proper care and prevention allow you to keep your own teeth for many years, avoiding the need for extractions and dentures.

Improved general health – healthy teeth mean a reduced risk of heart disease, diabetes and other systemic problems linked to inflammatory processes in the oral cavity.

Prevention of serious diseases – regular dental check-ups reduce the risk of periodontal disease, tooth decay and tooth loss.

Aesthetic benefits – professional cleaning keeps teeth white, smooth and healthy, contributing to an attractive smile and increased self-confidence.

Developing healthy habits and keeping to dental check-up appointments helps maintain good oral health throughout your life.
